This hands-on workshop invites teens to explore the beauty and simplicity of watercolor painting in a welcoming, supportive setting. Whether you’re a total beginner or looking to rekindle your creativity, you’ll learn easy and enjoyable watercolor techniques to create your own unique piece of art. The theme of this workshop is animals and is for teens 12-18. Each participant will receive a curated palette of artist-grade watercolors and high-quality paper, making the experience both accessible and enriching.  This class is taught by local artist Kristina Eng.  Please register to reserve your seat. America 250: Unlock Your Ancestors' Military Records

Discover the stories behind your ancestors’ military records!  This seminar shows how U.S. military records can enrich genealogy research by revealing an ancestor’s life, service, and character. You will learn how to access records through powerful resources, interpret the records, and create a lasting memorial page to honor your ancestor’s service and sacrifice. This talk will be given by Ron Chan, a published genealogy author and Co-Founder of the Chinese American GI Project, which works to ensure that veteran legacies are not lost, forgotten, or ignored. Python and Machine Learning for grades 7-9

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of Python programming and machine learning through interactive lessons and an open-ended final project. This class is intended for rising 7th to 9th graders and is suitable for students with no prior coding experience. Students will learn how to write basic Python programs, work with data, and explore how machine learning models can make predictions from real-world datasets. Throughout the course, students will strengthen their computational thinking and problem-solving skills through fun and engaging practice problems. The program concludes with a collaborative final project in which students build and present a simple machine learning model using real-world data. This class is twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays 4:00-5:30pm from June 10th to July 12th. Students are expected to attend all classes.  Registering for the first day registers you for the entire series. Please bring your own laptop. We will have some available if needed for in class use. This class is taught by high school volunteers. A Whispering Shade: An Art Exhibit

Saratoga Library's July - August 2026 lobby exhibit is by Mijung Kim.  About the Artist Mijung Kim majored in Asian painting in Korea. One of her primary techniques is to apply many layers of mixed pigments with glue on thick paper. She also draws using acrylics and ink. She has participated in both solo and group exhibitions where her paintings have won awards. Mijung's exhibit will be on display in the lobby during Saratoga Library's open hours from mid-July through the end of August 2026. Photos courtesy of the artist.

Discover the basics of ultraviolet (UV) resin crafting in this hands-on 1.5-hour workshop. Participants will learn how to work safely with UV resin while designing and personalizing a unique creation using a variety of provided inclusions such as glitter, sequins, real dried flowers, and more.
