FREE DOWNLOADS THROUGH OC LIBRARY USING LIBBY AND HOOPLA Friday, July 10; 9-10:30 a.m. Bring your device and your active OC library card and learn how to utilize Libby to locate, borrow and download books, audiobooks, and magazines. Use Hoopla to access music, books, audiobooks, television and movies. All free through the OC Library. IOS-WORKSHOPS FOR IPAD AND IPHONE Classes are held Fridays, 9:00-10:30 a.m. Bring your IPad/phone to class and learn the basics as well as some popular features of your device. Participants should fully charge their device, have completed the basic setup, and know their Apple password . Weekly topics are as follows: July 17, Basic IOS Settings -- Learn where the basic settings are, what they do, and how they affect your device. Understanding your settings is the foundation to mastering your device!! July 24, Customize your screens -- Customize your lock/home screens; add/remove apps; create folders to group similar apps and declutter your screen. July 31, Internet —Use Safari to navigate the web; create bookmarks and favorites; manage your websites, clear history, etc. August 7, Contacts/Texting/Email —add/manage your contacts, email account; manage emails and organize in folders; add/save email attachments. Learn American Sign Language at the Ocean City Free Public Library! These classes are free and open to the public. Online registration is required and seats are limited. For Ages 16 and Up ASL 101 – Introduction to American Sign Language Mondays, 5pm-6pm June 15, June 22, (No class on June 29), July 6, July 13 Tuesday , July 21, July 27, August 3 and Tuesday , August 4 Learn the basics of American Sign Language (ASL) in a fun and welcoming course. You’ll learn the alphabet, numbers, everyday signs, and simple conversations. Perfect for beginners with little to no ASL experience! About the Instructor My name is Tiffany, but most people know me as Tan. I am a Deaf advocate and ASL educator with over 10 years of experience teaching ASL to diverse communities. I enjoy creating cooperative and supportive learning environments using an immersion approach with visual, hands-on activities and meaningful conversations. My goal is not only to teach ASL, but also to share Deaf culture, ASL storytelling, and respectful allyship within the Deaf community. I believe language and culture are powerful tools that help build connection, understanding, and inclusive communities.
