Infant and Toddler Storytime invites children and their caregivers to wiggle, rhyme, and sing with diverse books, songs, and fingerplays that encourage language, play, and exploration. This program is geared for children 0 to 3 years of age and their parents/caregivers, but all children are welcome! Free, 50 person maximum. Story Time tickets required. A second event, Infant and Toddler Storytime B will start at 11:15 for those that weren't able to make it inside for this event. Seating for Storytime is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of tickets will be distributed at the Information Desk 30 minutes prior to the start of Storytime. This program is developed to align with the Early Education Quality Standards . ADA Accommodations Requests

Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies provides students in grades TK-5 with an opportunity to improve their reading skills by working one-on-one with a teen reading coach. Reading Buddies creates a positive reading experience for beginning and developing readers and helps children build confidence as readers. Our reading coach will listen to children read and provide support in phonics, sight words, and comprehension. Students can bring their favorite book or choose from the available selection at the Educational Park Branch Library. Free. Pre-registration not required. However, reading sessions are available on a first come, first served basis and the duration of reading sessions may be limited depending on the number of participating students. Participants can also use their session to read away their fines! Just inform your Reading Buddy (open to youth only). ADA Accommodation Requests

Friday Fun Craft: Perler Beads and Bead Sprites

Teens and Adults Only Come make some Perler bead projects with us! You'll be finishing your project with an iron so they can be taken home and even attached to a keychain or magnet! We will be using 5mm beads. Learn crafting skills you can utilize at home :  Participants will be ironing their own projects with guidance from Library Staff/Volunteers; no children allowed. Free. Supplies are limited.  Drop-in during the duration of the program is okay, but leave yourself enough time to finish. Cleanup begins at 5:30pm. Registration is not required but I'd like to have a headcount to prepare enough tables for the projects. ADA Accommodation Request

Music and Movement is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities through songs, rhymes, finger plays, and movement activities. Music and Movement is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of learning for all ages. This program is geared for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers!  Free, 50 person maximum. Story Time tickets required. Another event, Music and Movement B will start at 11:15 for those that weren't able to make it inside for this event. Seating for Storytime is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of tickets will be distributed at the Information Desk 30 minutes prior to the start of Storytime. This program is developed to align with the Early Education Quality Standards . Group Computer Assembly Workshop

Recommended for ages 10+ With Lab PCs donated by our local community, you will learn: Components needed to assemble a working computer How to plan out and shop for a new/used computer components How to assemble a PC without damaging components Class Breakdown: Presentation on minimum necessary components and their functions Students/families (in small groups) will be given an assortment of components to reassemble into a working computer Start them up and troubleshoot any problems Due to the nature of no shows for library programs, there will be a wait-list. If you are on the waitlist, show up at the start time to fill any vacancies. Thanks to our patrons and staff for their computer donations!! My Qualifications: I've built my own computers for more than 30 years. My parents worked at IBM and would always bring home new components. Lego SPIKE Robotics & Engineering for Grades 6+

Teens and tweens (Grades 6+) will use LEGO SPIKE PRIME kits + Prime app to engineer, code, and maneuver robots to accomplish an objective. Planned Cooperative Lessons: July 17: Super Cleanup Grabber July 24: Hopper Race [moving creature] July 31: This is Uphill [motorcycle] Aug 07: Aim for It [motorized vehicle] The Prime App has all lessons/plans built-in, if your child or pair doesn't want to do the weekly project, they are free to build/code something else, but help/instruction/time might not be available for them to complete their project if they stray from the lesson . Free. Registration required. You can register 1 month before classes start. 15 kits available: Working in pairs is permitted if registered person agrees/brings their own friend of age or picks someone from the waitlist.   Please do not register if your child doesn’t meet the age requirement .
