Hop into a time machine and travel 550 million years into the past! Dino O'Dell will teach kids about Earth’s history through the three major eras, Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic. Learn about incredible marine life, dinosaurs and mammals along the way. This lively, interactive program uses music, storytelling and animations to bring Earth’s history to life.  10:00-11:00 Performance 11:00-Noon Crafts and Activities Note: This event is designed for kids (ages 5-12) based on the skills we'll be practicing or the tools used. Offering age-appropriate programming allows us to craft memorable and personalized experiences for all our patrons, no matter their age. Kelver Library is partnering with Food Bank of the Rockies to provide nourishing meals to our neighbors of the eastern plains community who are experiencing food insecurity. Food Bank of the Rockies will offer fresh produce, shelf-stable items and more on the second Monday of each month during 2026 at Kelver Library from 9am until the food runs out.  No qualification is needed and all are welcome.  This site is client choice please bring bags or boxes to transport food.  Please check the Food Bank of the Rockies website for potential weather delays or closures of the distribution. Food Bank of the Rockies has more than 80 mobile pantries distributions throughout Colorado and Wyoming to reach those in need. Since mid-March, the food bank has consistently distributed more food throughout the metro and rural communities than ever before. On average, they have distributed 9 million pounds of food per month and are providing enough food to serve nearly 250,000 meals per day. Join the Arapahoe County Office of Emergency Management for an engaging, hands‑on workshop designed to help community members build confidence before, during, and after emergencies. The program covers the essentials of personal preparedness—including how to make a plan, stay informed, and get involved—followed by a practical demonstration of what to include in an emergency kit and why each item matters. Pop-up Volunteer Program for Teens: Kelver Library

Are you a teen going into grades 7-12 who needs to earn volunteer hours this summer? Check out this standalone program for teens to earn some volunteer hours! We will have lots of different activities for teens to help with! Teens will earn volunteer credit for the hours they attend the program. If you have any paperwork you need filled out, please bring it with you. We will be keeping records of name, contact information, and time volunteered if you need a letter of proof. If you have other verification needs, please contact us. This volunteer program is for teens going into grades 7-12, and will take place at Kelver Library in Byers, CO. We are not an approved court ordered volunteer agency and we cannot approve hours for any court ordered service for teens or adults.
