Little Kids Yoga is a bright, fun, and interactive yoga adventure that incorporates basic postures, movement, breath exercises, songs, music, meditation, puppets, and play into every class. Together we learn how to strengthen little bodies, calm minds, increase focus, improve social skills, and build confidence. Caregivers are encouraged to participate throughout the class and have fun with their little ones.
Please bring a yoga mat or towel to class.

Poetry Workshop with Dr. Linda Opyr

ROOM 01
Linda Opyr, the Nassau County Poet Laureate 2011–2013, is the author of nine collections of poetry. Her poems have appeared in The Hudson Review, Poetry Ireland Review, Long Island Quarterly, and The New York Times, as well as other journals, newspapers, and anthologies. She has been featured in the Bailieborough Poetry Festival in County Cavan and the Walking with Whitman Series at the Walt Whitman Birthplace. In 2001 the Suffolk County Legislature presented her with a Proclamation honoring her poetry. She holds a Doctor of Arts degree in English and American literature from St. John’s University.
Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to write poetry and share what they have written. Bring paper, a pen, and the desire to expand your knowledge and enjoyment of writing good poems.

Join us for an ancient Chinese system of exercises or movements performed in meditation, which promotes relaxation and inner peace, aimed to address the body and mind as an interconnected system, and traditionally believed to have mental and physical health benefits to improve posture, balance, flexibility, and strength. The class consists of easy breathing and movement exercises to reduce stress, increase flexibility and enhance an overall feeling of wellness.

This is a two-session workshop. You must attend both workshops.
Learn crochet in a relaxed, comfortable, and welcoming environment where all skill levels are encouraged to participate. Whether you are a complete beginner, looking to refresh your skills, or just starting your crochet journey, this class is designed to help you build confidence and creativity. In Session 1, students will learn and review proper hand placement, chaining, and single crochet techniques. In Session 2, we will explore double and triple crochet stitches while continuing to strengthen foundational skills. More advanced participants may also learn crocheting in the round, creating granny squares, changing colors, increasing and decreasing stitches, and reading crochet patterns
