Join an expert from the Rochester Chess Center and learn new moves while being matched up with other players. Open to everyone age 6 and up. Free. Registration is required.

Gazebo

The concert series is back and ready to roll! All concerts will take place at the Gazebo in Kennelley Park from 7:00pm-8:00pm! Mark them in your calendar! You don't want to miss them! All concerts are FREE and co-sponsored by the Fairport Public Library and the Perinton Recreation & Parks Department. *Please Note: Seating is not provided. Please plan ahead if you would like to sit during the concerts. In case of weather, the concert will be called 30 minutes before start time if cancelled. Please join us for a monthly community building circle! We are social beings that not only need connection -- we thrive and are more resilient when community bonds are nurtured and strengthened. The circle structure, where each person has an opportunity to speak, in turn, without interruption, creates a safe space to make connections, build relationships and be heard. Each circle focuses on a meaningful topic that is chosen by trained facilitators. There is never any pressure to speak, or to return, but our hope is that after experiencing a community building circle and the relationships that develop there, you'll join us again as we build community together. You are invited to play our Nintendo Switch on Friday afternoons! We have multiple controllers and games are provided. Feel free to play, watch others play, and/or bring your own Switch. Registration not needed, drop-in anytime! Open to grades 6-12.

Better Hearing = Better Living! Stop in for a quick and free hearing check while you're at the library! An Express Hearing Check Kiosk helps individuals gain perspective on how well they are hearing. HLAA-Rochester provides friendly Support to deal with the challenges of hearing loss, Education on how to cope when living with hearing aids and assistive devices, and Advocacy to create more hearing friendly environments. Also, Tips to Consider when buying Over-the-Counter hearing aids. HLAA-Rochester, an all-volunteer 501C3 non-profit founded in 1983, offers all services free of charge.

Are you looking for a pet that is quiet, clean, easy to train, and will live forever? A pet rock might be the perfect companion for you! Pick out a rock from our collection, customize it with paints, and leave the library with your new BRFF (best rock friend forever). All materials, including an adoption certificate, provided. Open to grades 6-12. Registration is required.

The Children’s Room is full of fun on Monday nights! Wear your jammies, bring your stuffies, and enjoy an evening of stories, songs, and dancing with the whole family! This program is designed for toddlers and preschoolers, but all ages are welcome! No registration.

Gazebo

Join us for an at-your-own-pace hour walk every Tuesday morning at 10:00am. We will meet at the Gazebo and walk on the canal or around the village of Fairport. No Registration is needed, come when you can! All ages and all fitness levels welcome, we encourage everyone to go at their own pace. Our goal is to meet people, get outside, and experience the gorgeous Fairport area! We hope to see you there!

Join us every Tuesday morning from July 7th-August 4th at the Kennelley Park Gazebo Courtyard for our Gazebo Guests. This week’s Gazebo Guest is Dr. Ted with A Magic Problem! In a world where magicians bask in prestige while jugglers get no respect, one juggler has had enough. A Magic Problem! is a farcical and thought-provoking solo show that explores the clash between the art of juggling and the illusion of magic. This program is geared towards kindergartners through 6th graders, but all ages are welcome to attend! In case of inclement weather, this program will be moved inside to the community room and seating will be limited and on a first come, first served basis due to fire code restrictions. No registration.

Calling all LEGO-ers! Come to the library for ultimate building fun with our awesome collection of Legos! All you need to bring is your imagination! Lego Club meets twice a month and is designed for kids ages 5–12, but younger siblings are welcome (we have lots of Duplos!). No registration.

How well do you know your snack foods? Do you know them well enough that you can name them by TASTE ALONE? Do us a FLAVOR and come put your taste buds to the test! Disclaimer: Please be aware that food served at this program may contain or come into contact with common allergens, such as dairy, eggs, wheat, soybeans, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, or shellfish. Open to anyone entering grades 6-12. Registration is required.

Learn how to use every inch of garden space whether growing herbs, vegetables or flowers. Get suggestions for container plantings and DIY projects too. Registration is required with an active email address for Zoom link. You will receive the link via email before the program. This program is hosted by the Charlotte Public Library. The Master Gardener Series is brought to you by the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County and is available thanks to a consortium of MCLS libraries who are sharing resources and connecting communities.

This class will provide an overview of internet basics. Topics covered will include internet browsers, search engines, email, and more! Limited to 6 participants—please register sooner than later. Please give at least 24 hours notice if you plan to cancel your registration—this allows patrons on the waiting list into the class. Registration is required. Please note this is a 90 minute course but will include a short break in the middle.

Join us for a super fun outdoor storytime! We'll be meeting in Perinton Park near the playground to offer stories, songs, and dancing! This storytime is geared towards toddlers and preschoolers but all are welcome. Families should bring a blanket to sit on if they'd like. Perinton Park is located at 99 O'Connor Road. This program is a collaboration with Perinton Recreation and Parks. Don't forget your sunscreen and water! (In case of inclement weather, this program will be cancelled. Check our website or social media the morning of the program for cancellation notices.)

Teen Space

Join friends at the library to play tabletop and/or card games on Wednesday afternoons! This experience is for anyone new to board gaming as well as long time enthusiasts excited to share the gaming experience. Attendees may bring their own or select a game from the Teen Space collection (we have a bunch!). Open to grades 4-12. No registration needed, drop-in anytime!

Join us this summer for nine Morgan Freeman movies! Each month, June through August, we will pick 3 films starring Morgan Freeman to show in the Community Room. No registration is necessary, and popcorn from local company Popcorn Charlie's will be served. Looking to get out of the house with the kids? Join us for Stroller Walking Club! This will be an at-your-own pace hour walk every Thursday morning through the end of October. We will meet at the Kennelley Park Gazebo and walk on the paved canal path. All ages and fitness levels welcome. Our goal is to meet other caregivers, breathe some fresh air, and stretch our legs a bit! No registration. We hope to see you there! *We will meet rain or shine. If the weather is truly awful, we will move inside to the Children's room or to the Community room for storytime.
