Dinosaur fans will enjoy dinosaur-themed stories, create a fun craft, dig for dinosaur eggs, make some dino art and join a playful tea party with their favorite prehistoric friends. Join the Adirondack Theatre Festival, Crandall Public Library, and the Touba Family Foundation for an outdoor performance of The Rainbow Fish proudly produced and performed by ATF's 2026 Intern Company. This special community offering gives emerging artists hands-on professional experience while ensuring that families across our region can enjoy live theatre together--at no cost. Bring a blanket, bring the kids, and join us for a summer tradition built on storytelling, sharing, and community. Performances will be held 7/10, 11, 21, 22, and 23 in City Park; all ages welcome and no registration necessary. Any weather-related cancellations will be noted here and posted on social media.
For generations, The Rainbow Fish has been a favorite story, known for its shimmering foil pages and timeless lesson about sharing. The most beautiful fish in the ocean learns that true happiness comes not from being admired, but from generosity and connection. This playful stage adaptation brings the beloved story to life with color, movement, and imagination, inviting young audiences to experience live theatre in a joyful, welcoming setting. As the Rainbow Fish learns to share his scales, he discovers friendship, belonging, and the lasting value of kindness—reminding us that inner beauty matters more than outward sparkle.

Instructor Alexander Grandy, Folklife Center librarian Kevin Rogan, and Children’s Department library assistant Emma Rogan return for another round of free beginner ukulele classes. No experience playing ukulele is required, and instruments are available for any participants who need them. Please register with Kevin Rogan (krogan@sals.edu) in advance.
