Come craft and chat with us. This is a weekly crafting group on Thursdays from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Burke Room (with a few exceptions). Bring your own project to craft in a relaxed atmosphere. Knitting, crochet, drawing, painting, or other portable crafts are welcome. No registration required. For ages 16 years and up. This program supports PA Forward's Civic and Social Literacy.

In Book Talk Craft Club readers will get new book and series recommendations while completing fun, hands-on projects. For children in grades 2 - 5. Adult caregivers must remain in the Youth Services Department during the program. This is a first-come, first-served, program and is limited to 15 children. Attendees must come to the Youth Services Department no earlier than 20 minutes before the program to get a ticket. Program will take place in the Story Time Room. Chess Club for Kids

Children age 6 - 12 years old, are invited to join the Chester County Library Chess Club! Learn how to play chess, play with other kids your own age or skill level, or work on strategy at weekly meetings with Coach Jack! Players of all levels, beginners and up, are welcome. The Chess Club meets on Thursdays in the Children's Department from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. Registration is required for all participants. All caregivers and children MUST check in at the Children's Desk. Caregivers must remain in the Children's area with their with child during the program. Children on the wait list must check-in at the desk and will only be admitted if there is availability after 5:45pm. When you register for an event, we are holding a spot for you. For every puzzle that you bring, you can take one from one of our swap tables. Swapped puzzles must be in good condition, have at least 300 pieces, be complete (with no missing pieces, unless clearly labeled as such), and be in the original vendor's box.

Unearth a Story: Colonial Science Series

Unearth a Story: Colonial Science Series, is a four week program that explores trades and skills common during the colonial time period, through books, discussion, and hands-on projects! Unearth a Colonial Science Story! Chapter 4: Colonial Land Science Join us as we explore the ways the early Americans made use of the land and water around them. We will go back in time to learn the STEM practices that families used to grow crops, tell time with the sun, and plan towns. This program focuses on the skills and technologies used by Surveyors, Farmers, and Explorers. For children entering grades 2 - 5. Adult caregivers must remain in the library during the program. REGISTRATION is REQUIRED for this program series. Attendees must come to the Youth Services Department no earlier than 20 minutes before the program to check -in.
