Come and look at our sun with experienced observers using special solar telescopes at this time of high activity on our star. You will see the surface of our sun and its atmosphere like never before. Sunspots, surface granules, possible eruptions and more using these instruments. Solar science will also be described in an engaging, self-paced way that is approachable for both adults and school students. Don't miss this opportunity! This is a DROP-IN event for all ages, stop by anytime between 10:00am and 12:30pm. This is a weather-dependent event and will be cancelled if it is cloudy or rainy on the event day. The Downingtown Library and Chester County Astronomical Society are working to develop a Telescope Loaner program where library patrons can borrow a Beginners Telescope. During our discussion, we will highlight how to use this instrument (valued at $600) and provide some tips for observing the night sky. For adults, young adults, and families.
