All ages, families welcome. Online program. Join the National Nordic Museum for a special Moomin themed program celebrating the current exhibit: Moomins’ Sea Adventures & Tove and the Sea . Explore the beloved Moomin characters and Nordic nature through stories, songs, and rhymes inspired by the world created by Tove Jansson. A drawing activity follows stories, please have handy plain paper, pencil, color crayons or markers. Story time attendees will get a voucher to attend the Moomin exhibit this summer at the National Nordic Museum! Please register in Zoom. Reading Buddies Online

Volunteers help students practice reading out loud. Two students are paired by reading level with each volunteer. Book selection focuses on readers in grades K-8 and English language learners in grades K-12. Reading Buddies share online books on-screen. Book selection changes every two weeks. Request “Reading Buddies” and your level. New students can request a welcome to help them find their Reading Buddies level. Study Zone Study Zone programs provide volunteer-led academic support for grades K-12. Programs include Tutors, Math Club, Reading Buddies and Kids & Teens Talk Time. Available online and in libraries. Online Study Zone programs are supervised by library staff. Visit Study Zone for the Terms of Use Agreement and steps KCLS is taking to maintain a safe and positive online space.

Second Friday Arts for Adults: Sharpie Tie Dye

Create casual art in a relaxed and friendly environment with basic arts supplies, tea, snacks and quiet music. You can also bring your own project to work on! In July, experiment with Sharpie Tie Dye. Draw colorful designs on a white handkerchief and blur the colors with rubbing alcohol. You may bring fabric of your own to color, too. You will get a small amount of instruction and a then a lot of time to experiment. All supplies provided. Registration not required. Drop in at any time.
