Intro to 3D Design with Tinkercad

Before class, please create a free account on Tinkercad.com using the "create a personal account" option. If using a minor's birthday, please complete parental approval before class to unlock the account. Or, use an adult's birthday for a seamless account setu p. Ever wanted to try 3D design? Join us for a hands-on workshop with Arav Uttarwar and explore the basics of Tinkercad! You'll learn how to create your own custom 3D model and design a unique keychain that can be 3D printed, perfect for adding flair to your favorite backpack. No prior tech experience needed, just bring your curiosity. Registration required. In this workshop, you will: Learn to create a simple 3D model (using Tinkercad). See the new library’s 3D printer in action. Learn how to submit a design for staff to print! Important: You are highly encouraged to create your own Tinkercad account on https://www.tinkercad.com/  If you need help you can arrive 15 minutes before the session to help you create an account. Geared toward ages 10+. Kids under 10 must have an adult with them & must have strong keyboard/mouse skills. Hey Teens! Got something to say? Want to write poetry, drop bars, make music, or just get creative with others who understand where you’re coming from? Youth Arts Connection is your space to do all that and more. These free workshops at the Pittsburg Library are led by local artists Jeremy Phillips and Tajanique, two powerful voices in poetry, music, and community from Contra Costa County. If you’re between the ages of 12 and 18, join us for creative sessions focused on self-expression, connection, and building real-life skills that will support you in school, your future, and beyond. ----- Art classes funded by Measure X.

Henna Art for Teens

Learn about the cultural tradition of henna body art and how it played a role for women in ancient ceremonies. Participants will be able to create artwork of their hands with henna designs on paper, or on muslin fabric with henna paste. Registration is required. This is a program for teens ages 12 to 18. Generously funded by Contra Costa County Library Teen Services. Important: By participating in this program you are stating that you understand that henna is a natural plant/vegetable dye and can last anywhere from one (1) to three (3) weeks; and that you have discussed with your child appropriate symbols and placement on the body for the temporary design.

Community Partner Pop-Ups: EHSD Navigators

Community Partner Pop-Ups are casual tabling events at the Pittsburg Library where local organizations stop by to share information, answer questions, and connect with the community in a relaxed, welcoming space. EHSD Navigators will be at the library to provide information, referrals, and application assistance for a wide range of programs and services that support individuals and families throughout Contra Costa County. Services include public benefits, employment resources, housing assistance, community programs, and other supportive services, with help available for programs such as CalFresh, Medi-Cal, CalWORKs, General Assistance, and the Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI).
