Family storytime is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities such as stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and movement activities. Storytime is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of reading and learning for all ages.  This program is geared for children and their caregivers. Due to limited capacity, please get a ticket at the Information Desk up to 60 minutes prior to storytime. This program is developed to align with the Early Education Quality Standards . The Santa Teresa Book Club discusses works of general interest, fiction, or historical fiction. The club meets from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the second Thursday January through November. Meetings are usually held in the Community Room at the Santa Teresa Branch Library in San Jose. The book club offers participants the opportunity to log in through Zoom and attend virtually. The link will be sent out 24 hours before the meeting starts. If you do not receive the invite, please check your junk mail folder first and then contact the librarian listed on this event for assistance. Once you have found all of the images on the checklist, come to the table in the Children's Area for a prize (while supplies last!). Themes: June 6 (Summer Fun), June 20 (Pride Month), June 27 (Fourth of July), July 11 (Candy), July 18 (Nature), and August 1 (Back-to-School). Free. No registration required. While supplies last. Fratello Marionettes: Carnival of Animals

Join us for a live performance where music and storytelling come together in a creative retelling of classic fairy tales. Saint-Saens’ fanciful score serves as a canvas upon which three classic storybook fairy tales are interwoven: “The Three Little Pigs”, “The Tortoise and the Hare”, and “The Ugly Duckling”.  This production is performed without dialog, allowing the classical score to shine. The puppets and puppeteers perform on a raised stage, fully visible to the audience. This program was made possible through the generous funding from the Friends of the Santa Teresa Library . Baby Lap-Sit Story Time

This program is geared for pre-walking children and their parents or caregivers. Baby Lap-Sit Storytime invites newborns, infants, and their caregivers to learn together by strengthening their relationship with each other through stories, songs, bounces, tickles, rhymes, books, and play. The program includes 20-25 minutes of stories and songs, followed by 40 minutes of open play with age appropriate toys. All attendees will be required to observe the library's Safety Guidelines . Santa Teresa Teens Reach Meeting

This leadership and volunteer service group for teens ages 13-18 meets in person on the third Friday of each month from 4-5pm in the Community Room. Teens Reach is the youth council for the San José Public Library, providing a key way for young adults to build their leadership skills by developing and participating in library activities, as well as becoming library advisors and advocates.
