Do you have a yarn project you want to complete? Are you curious about knitting, crochet, or embroidery but don't want to commit to a new venture just yet? Do you like yarn crafts and want to share your knowledge with other people? Yarn and yak is the place for you! This program is intended for adults who can direct themselves. Staff can provide encouragement, beginning materials, books, and video resources. We will provide a selection of beginner kits and materials for experimenting! If you are particularly interested in either crochet, knitting, or embroidery, we can offer you the best support if you let us know before the program. We will be sure to have appropriate materials on hand to match your interests. Registration is not required, but you will get a reminder email if you do, and we will know about how much stuff we need. Walk-ins welcome.

Northside's teen-only book club! We'll be reading Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton . Copies will be available at the Northside Library. We will meet to discuss the book over some light refreshments and watch the 1993 movie adaptation. Happy reading! Teen Advisory Board members will receive volunteer hours at this event, but all teens are welcome. Join us for our Teen Advisory Board (TAB) At Northside Library! We will have monthly meetings (with FREE SNACKS) where we can brainstorm ideas for teen programs, work on service projects to earn volunteer hours, and share your ideas about how the Northside library can better support its teens! TAB members are required to have an approved volunteer application on file in order to earn volunteer hours. Teen volunteers must submit a physical application with parent/guardian signature. Northside TAB is recommended for ages 12-18.
