Join us at the Barbara Bush Branch for a unique experience, catered just for you! We opened up our Thursday mornings to local co-ops, parochial schools, day cares, and any other group interested in a personalized tour, Storytime, craft, or combination of all three. Tired of Storytimes unable to accommodate your group all at once? This is the program for you. Ms. Maryam will curate books and supplies to either support your curricula as requested or it can be a surprise. Bring seeds, plant cuttings, and potted plants to swap with other plant lovers! Restock and curate our community seed library.  Stay and talk with new friends about gardening and nature. Tea and cookies will be provided for your chat! (first come, first serve). Bring seeds from your garden or store seed packets to the Plant Swap to add to our new Seed Library.  The Seed Library will offer free seeds for the community. Share your gardening knowledge!

Join our Tween Book Club here at the Barbara Bush Branch Library! We will discuss a new book every month paired with a fun activity. The book for July  will be Camp Scare  by Delilah S. Dawson. Popcorn is, of course, provided! You may bring you own snacks too. The registration form can be found here . This book club is for children ages 8-12. We meet twice a month. We will discuss the first half of the book at the first meeting of the month and discuss the rest of the book at the end of the month. Registration is required as copies are limited. You may obtain a copy in the Children's Department at the Barbara Bush Branch Library. You can also place a hold to pick up at your own convenience from the hcpl.net website.

Join us on Fridays at 1PM to craft and chat. We focus on knitting and crochet and make items to donate to local charities.  We are happy to help old and new crafters with their projects, but this is not a formal class.  Please bring your own supplies.

Join us at the Barbara Bush Branch Library for a trip into the (not so) distant past! Ever wondered how we played games on the computer before Roblox? Technology, appliances, and everyday objects change over time. Sometimes, it's fast and we have to race to keep up and sometimes it's so slow that when we look back we can't recognize what we used to use every day. Discover new old objects and unearth their stories from our past. This program is free and will be hosted by our generous neighbors at the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center (C5). The educational content is best suited to tweens aged eight to 14.

Come join the North Houston Space Society (NSS) for their monthly meeting and learn about the latest happenings in space exploration, as well as what is just around the corner. This program is for anyone interested in getting together to learn and discuss space exploration. Join us for our Monthly NSS North Houston Space Society ( http://NorthHoustonSpace.org ) meeting. Connect with others who are excited about exploring the cosmos, learning how to use the resources of space to improve human life, and who want to go and spread humanity to the rest of the universe. This meeting happens every second Saturday of the month at 2 PM.

Caregivers are encouraged to stay after to play and build community connections. This program is for babies from 0 up to 18 months old. * Capacity is limited, so please pick up a ticket from the children's desk the morning of the program. * Large groups like daycares, Summer camps, parochial schools, and homeschool co-ops cannot be accommodated during regular Storytimes. This workshop is being hosted by the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. Each week will teach a new skillset, educating families on nutrition, cooking, and how to stay active together.
