Enjoy some time to bond with your baby and meet new friends. This program is for babies and will feature lap-sit stories, songs, activities and time to socialize with others. Story time is an excellent way to bond with your child, boost their vocabulary, and hopefully raise a lifelong reader. Studies have shown that regularly reading to your child can increase their attention span, boost their emotional intelligence, and flex their imagination. A free ticket is required and can be picked up at the information desk 30 minutes prior to the program.

Join us for Let's Build It! this summer. The library will provide the Legos, Duplos, Magna-Tiles, Lincoln Logs, Big Blue Blocks, Straw Connectors and more. We will have free play and organized team challenges. All materials must stay at the library, but you are welcome to photograph your creations. Please leave your own Legos and other building toys at home. We don't want you to lose your favorite pieces! This program is intended for children aged 5-12 years old. Tickets are required for all programs unless otherwise noted. They are free and available starting 30 minutes before the program begins at the Information Desk. Tickets are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants will learn basic jewelry-making techniques while exploring color, pattern, and bead selection to craft an accessory to take home. Eco-Art Camp with Artist Boat

Presented by Artist Boat, Eco-Art Camp will unearth the secrets hidden at the bottom of the ocean. During this weeklong camp at the library, students will experience hands-on activities and art creation to understand “Benthic Communities” or what is at the bottom of the ocean. Participants will create watercolor seascapes, glow in the dark acrylic portraits of deep ocean dwelling organisms and create coral models out of clay. Eco-Art Camp at Northwest Library is from July 13th to 17th from 4 pm to 6 pm. Eco Art Camp is for students ages 12 to 18 years. This is a free program that is open to the first 25 applicants. A waiting list will be kept for those who still wish to sign up after the first 25. To register for Eco-Art Camp pick up an application at the desk starting June 15th. Artist Boat is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote awareness and preservation of coastal margins and the marine environment through the disciplines of the sciences and the arts.
