Registration opens on Monday June 15th Create it With Phoebe offers a small group workshop for kids ages 8-10 to create emoji keychains out of polymer clay. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. You'll love this class! Phoebe is a Creative Educator & Experience Curator who designs hands-on art experiences that help children build confidence, creativity, and self-expression through making. Her workshops combine elevated materials, approachable instruction, and imaginative themes that allow young makers to explore art in a welcoming and encouraging environment. From polymer clay and painting to mixed media and seasonal crafts, children leave with projects they are proud to create and excited to share. To that end, Maplewood Library's teen summer reading activities will focus on mysteries and secrets. What grows in the dark, is soft like fur, and tastes kind of like lobster if you cook it right? A lion's mane mushroom! Lion's mane mushrooms (aka Hericium erinaceus ) are high in protein, and they are used in cooking and in traditional Chinese medicine. For this take-and-make activity, you'll follow simple instructions to create a harvest of these fun fungi. Register to claim your own mushroom growing kit. Supplies are limited.
