Using interview and performance clips, Gary Wenstrup traces Willie’s journey from small-town Texas and his struggles in Nashville to Outlaw Country and legendary status. Honoring America 250 Willie is the face, the heart and the soul of country music…and he’s still going strong. In 2024 he celebrated his 91st birthday and released his 76th album solo album! Using interview and performance clips, Gary Wendstrup will trace the arc of Willie’s career from his humble beginnings in small town Texas to his struggles in Nashville to his shift to Outlaw Country to his now legendary status. We’ll cover all the big hits including “Crazy,” “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain,” “On The Road Again,” and “Always On My Mind.”

Learn through guided, hands-on stations as we explore the nature around us! Nature Explorers will be located in Busse Woods and co-led with staff from the Forest Preserves of Cook County. More information will be sent once registered. Each class requires a separate registration. Registration is limited to Elk Grove Village Public Library cardholders.
