Roll the dice and design a dinosaur! Drop by the library anytime during the day to create a dinosaur whose features are decided by your dice rolls. What kind of dinosaur will you create? In this fun and creative drop-in activity, kids will roll dice to determine the different features of their dinosaur. Each roll will decide something new—like the dinosaur’s size, spikes, tail, colors, or other unique characteristics. Participants can stop by the library anytime during the day to take on the challenge and see what kind of prehistoric creature their dice rolls create. No registration required.

Join us for Preschool Storytime, a warm and welcoming program designed to spark a love of reading in young children! Each session features engaging stories, fun songs, and plenty of opportunities for kids to listen, learn, and laugh. While the focus is on storytelling, there's still plenty of movement and music to keep little ones smiling and engaged. It’s a great way to build early literacy skills—and make storytime a favorite part of your week! Please note: Seating is first come, first served. Once the room reaches maximum capacity, we will kindly close the event to additional attendees for safety and comfort.

Each month, kids ages 5–12 can take on a LEGO challenge or free build. Challenge builds go on display for voting, and the design with the most votes wins! Each month we offer a LEGO Challenge for kids age 5-12. They build something on the challenge topic, or free build. Those that build that challenge topic are placed on display in the Children’s Department so visitors to the library may vote for the remainder of the month. The winner is selected by the built design that gets the most votes. Please do not bring LEGOs from home. Library staff are not responsible for pieces that come from home. Children under the age of 5 are not allowed to use the small LEGOs as they are a choking hazard.

Dinomation: Animation Program Series for Tweens!

Dinomation is a workshop series for tweens 8-12. They will learn the basics of animation, create storyboards, design characters, and produce their own short animated projects. Registration required! Step into the world of animation with Dinomation, an exciting summer workshop series designed especially for tweens 8-12! Over the course of six hands-on sessions, participants will explore the art and process of animation—from the first spark of an idea to a finished animation! Tweens will learn how to develop original stories, create detailed storyboards, design unique characters, and experiment with animation techniques such as stop-motion and basic digital animation. Along the way, they’ll build skills in storytelling, visual planning, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. Each session builds on the last, giving participants the opportunity to grow their projects and refine their techniques over time. By the end of the series, animators will have completed their own short animated project and gained a behind-the-scenes understanding of how animated stories come to life. Registration is required, as space is limited. Because this is a progressive workshop series, participants must commit to attending at least 4 of the 6 sessions to ensure the best experience for themselves and the group.
