Unearth Your Story: Postcard Memoirs

Explore the power of memories and postcard memoirs in this writing workshop led by local writer Shana Ritter. Age 18 and up. Unearth your story this summer through this unique memoir-writing workshop. Local author and speaker Shana Ritter will lead participants through the process of how to start writing memoirs, asking the right questions, and finding a way to grab individual memories and link them together. Shana will be using the ideas of postcard memoirs—how to take a snapshot of your life and share it. Please bring a notebook and pen or laptop, and be prepared to have fun! No previous experience is necessary. About Shana Ritter: Shana Ritter writes poetry and prose and pieces in between. Her work has appeared in journals, magazines and anthologies including Lilith , Fifth Wednesday , and Trigger Warnings . Her chapbook, Stairs of Separation , was published by Finishing Line Press. In the Time of Leaving , a novel of exile and resilience, is set in late 15th century Spain and newly published in 2024. She is currently at work on a memoir and a new collection of poetry. Shana has been awarded the Indiana Individual Artist Grant on multiple occasions.
