Fire Truck Visit - America 250: with Centre Township Fire Rescue

A fire truck is coming to our library! Take a tour of of the truck and learn about safety from our local first responders. Weather permitting. All ages welcome. Our community partners at the Centre Township Fire and Rescue will bring a fire truck to our library. Participants can take a tour of the truck and listen to a short presentation on fire safety. Nature Detectives: Trees, Bees, & Animal Needs: with St. Joseph County Soil & Water Conservation District

Join for one or all three in the series! Each hands on lesson explores a new topic, boosting observation and journaling skills to deepen curiosity and connection to nature. Ages 6–11 recommended. You will get your own magnfiying glass and journal to become a Nature Detective. We will focus on a different topic each lesson and hone our observation skills while keeping notes in our nature journals. Learn how to set up your journal to help you be more curious, notice more, and have a deeper connection to nature. Discover how much there is to see when you starting looking! June 22nd - Trees: Learn about the common trees in our neighborhoods and study the trees in the courtyard up close. July 13th - Bees: Learn about pollinators. It's more than just honey bees! Go outside to observe pollinators in action. August 17th - Animal Needs: Learn about local habitats and what animals need. Look for signs of animal life by our Storywalk.
