The Wilmington Wellness Coalition in partnership with Wilmington Memorial Library offers drop-in and pre-scheduled appointments at the library for any library patron who may need support. Get connected with Samantha Cavanaugh, social worker for the Town of Wilmington, for help with: * mental health * substance use * domestic violence * youth/family * transportation * applications * housing * food insecurities * caretaker support Consultations and referrals are confidential and free to all. If further services are needed, additional appointments can be booked outside of drop-in hours. This resource will be available monthly on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 10a-12p and the 2nd and 4th Thursday from 6p-8p in the Banda Room. The first hour will be for drop-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, and the second hour will be appointment based in 20-minute time slots. Join volunteer group leader Nathalie Hayduk for this stress-free, low-key group to speak French on a more regular basis. Nathalie is thrilled to facilitate this group. She is a native French speaker with a profound passion for the French language and culture. A Wilmington resident for more than 25 years, she is excited to connect with fellow language lovers to provide a supportive environment to practice speaking skills, build confidence, and share cultural learning. When not participating or facilitating French conversation and book clubs, Nathalie enjoys hiking with her husband, two daughters, and their Labrador retrievers. There will be various topics to discuss each month. Please note that this is not a French class.

We encourage parents to join us and participate in whatever language they speak. At the playgroup participants will work on Early Literacy skills and more! Have a say in manga purchased for the teen collection with our Manga Tryouts club! Have a say in manga purchased for the teen collection with our Manga Tryouts club for grades 6-12! During each meeting, we'll sample 1st volumes of different manga, and vote on whether it should be added to WML's collection. Wilmington Middle School students may request bus drop off at the Wilmington High School for walkable access to the library. To arrange permission, please contact Lisa Faretra, Director of Transportation for Wilmington Public Schools. Drop-in and join us for some fairy fun! We'll learn about fairies with a story and then build fairy houses outdoors in the library's reading garden. Learn about fairies with a story and then build your own fairy house in our "fairy village" in the Peggy Kane reading garden using natural materials provided. This is an on site activity, not a take home project. In the event of inclement weather, story time will move inside, but fairy house building will still happen outside unless there is a severe weather forecast. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Materials will remain outside all day for building as long as supplies last. Best for ages 3+
