Enjoy the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center trails while reading our "Reading is Timeless"-themed books. The Fertile Public Library is collaborating with the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center and Polk County Public Health to host several of Story Strolls this summer featuring the theme " Reading is Timeless ." Children and their families can visit the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center to explore marked trails while reading individual book pages displayed along the path. This partnership aims to combine literacy with outdoor activity, allowing participants to enjoy stories in a natural setting throughout the season. To help continue these events, please Make It Count by having every person in your group grab a rock at the start of the trail. Use your rock to answer the question at the end of the book to help track participation. Additionally, the library would love for you to share photos of your group on the trail via our Facebook pages or by emailing them to fertile@larl.org . Check with Fertile Public Library in person or on Facebook to find the location and when the book titles change. Dates TBD depending on volunteer availability. Be transported back to the year 1848, leading a covered wagon party from Independence, Missouri, to the fertile Willamette River and valley in Oregon. Your leadership skills will be tested as you make choices about supplies, resource management, and your route while overcoming various challenges and setbacks. What button will you end up with? Find some Oregon Trail, pioneer, & settler books in our catalog. Find free online Oregon Trail games to play. Check out Internet Archive's collection of retro games . Did You Know? Oregon Trail was initially created as a text-based game in 1971 and later published by the Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium (MECC) in 1975.

The Ada Public Library has reserved the Learning Express Trailer from Prairie Public Television from July 8th to 10th. The Learning Express trailer is packed with 14 resource bins filled with kits, games, and activities that families can come and use at the library. Each day, the library will rotate 2-3 of the resource bins that families can come and explore during library hours. An adult must be present and actively supervising children while bins are in use. The Learning Express Trailer will be available on the following dates: Wednesday, July 8th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 9th from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 10th from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Heart-n-Soul will bring their mobile food truck to the parking lot on the west side of Moorhead Public Library on the second Thursday of each month, June through October 2026. Heart-n-Soul Community Cafe has been helping community members dine with dignity since 2020, building community through shared meals with a "pay what you can" model. There are kid-friendly meal options, and they also try to include vegetarian and gluten free options. So you only have $5? No problem! Everyone gets to eat a nourishing meal!
