Henderson Libraries is partnering with Clean the World to provide hot showers and hygiene packs. The event is free and open to the public and 1st come 1st serve. The mobile shower truck has 4 stalls, 2 of which are ADA compliant. Families are welcome, as long as the guardian is present. The mobile shower truck will be located in the west side of the library, located in the parking lot.

Asian Community Resource Center (ACRC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to work with local, state, and federal agencies, community groups, and organizations to provide a range of assistance addressing economic development and health. ACRC partners with Nevada Health Link (NVHL), an organization created by the State of Nevada, and is supported by Silver State Health Insurance Exchange, a state agency.

Discover Tai Chi almost every Thursday in a welcoming class for all abilities. Gentle movements, standing or seated, help improve balance, calm the mind, and promote overall wellbeing. Join Instructor Jeanne Sands for a rejuvenating exploration of Qigong and Tai Chi, with a special focus on Tao 29. Jeanne guides participants through mindful movements and standing practices, emphasizing both the techniques and the health benefits of these ancient arts. As a certified Tai Chi Instructor through the Lohan School of Shaolin and the World Tai Chi Association, Jeanne brings expertise, clarity, and a deep understanding of the transformative power of these practices.

By bringing people together in a safe environment to share lived experiences, learn, and have fun, amazing things can happen. Relax and enjoy the benefits of yoga! This class meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. We welcome participants of all levels, including little to no experience. Socks required. Chairs are available for those who don't feel comfortable on the floor. All yoga poses can be adapted for chairs. Space is limited. Join us for an interactive community forum where individuals can explore the possibility of pathways. We invite you to participate in a world café-style discussion on neighborhood mobility and traffic safety from the perspectives of Nevadans. Participants will be invited to share their experiences as drivers, public transit riders, pedestrians, motorcyclists, cyclists, e‑bike or e‑scooter users, and ATV or 4‑wheeler riders. This session will use participatory activities, storytelling, and systems thinking to examine the root causes of unsafe behaviors affecting vulnerable road users. Together, participants will co‑create ideas that support safer choices, environments, and policies—helping build fair, healthy, and accessible communities for everyone. This event is hosted by the Nevada Department of Human Service’s Office of Minority Health and Equity.

Yin Yoga for Beginners

This calming yoga session can help improve flexibility, balance, and mindfulness. Space is limited. Passes are available at the Adult Services desk 30 minutes before the program. Yin Yoga is a meditative practice in which yoga poses are held for 1 to 3 minutes. Poses can be done standing, sitting, or from a chair. The practice integrates mindfulness, as each pose is a meditation. Gradual complete stretches build pliability in connective tissue and fascia, and stretching along acupressure meridians can improve the flow of energy. Yin Yoga is steady, passive, provides balance, and reduces stress. Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis until we run out. Attendees must be present to receive a pass. Please bring a yoga mat. A limited number of yoga mats are available for participants who don't have one. Socks are encouraged, but not required.
