Hunt Library will host their annual Giant Tag Sale at the Center on Main on Saturday, July 11 and on Sunday, July 12, the day of the Falls Village Car & Motorcycle Show.  Quality items may be donated and dropped off at the Center on Main at 103 Main Street in Falls Village on Thursday, July 9 and Friday, July 1o from noon to 5PM. Items that cannot be accepted include clothing, books, and electronics; almost anything else is welcome. All proceeds from the tag sale benefit the library.

Join us Tuesday July 14th at 2pm to Learn to Draw Cartoons! Award winning Cartoonist and Humorous Illustrator Rick Stromoski will teach you how to create your own cartoon characters, draw facial expressions and create unique animal characters. Registration is required, please sign up here!

Join us for a special story time! Author Jeanne Kessler will join us and read her book, ‘You Can Call Me Trixie’.  After Jeanne’s Story, we will share a snack and do a craft. You Can Call Me Trixie follows the story of when Grandma moves in with the family after developing dementia, the family dog becomes her loyal friend. Told through Trixie’s eyes, this true-to-life story helps children and families understand memory loss with compassion, patience, and joy.

Author Gabriele Davis will read her very own children‘s book Peaches! We will listen to Gabriele’s story, have a snack and do a fun craft. Books will be available for purchase and signing will take place at the end. For more on Gabriele, click here.

All ages are invited to join educators from ADAMAH farm for “Grow With Us,” four afternoons of learning in the garden! On July 16th join us to turn cucumbers into pickles and learn about the science of lacto fermentation. The session starts at 4:30 pm. Adults and kids are welcome! This programming is made possible by the Sustainable and Resilient New England Libraries Grant from the Association for Small and Rural Libraries.

Come show off your skills and see if you can win the Hula Hoop Contest! There will be different categories, age groups and prizes to win! Sign up is a 2pm, contest starts at 2:30!

Beginning on Saturday, July 18th at 10:30 am the David M. Hunt Library will host “Revolutionary Roundtable: a reading and discussion group focused on our emerging nation from 1740-1791” with avid amateur historian and Falls Village resident Richard Berzine. The group will meet monthly from July through December, exploring various topics and writings together. Participants can join for individual sessions or all six. A copy of the readings will be available at the library in advance. The July session will focus on “Our Declaration of Independence: Discussion of The Greatest Sentence Ever Written by Walter Isaacson” and will include excerpts from The Virginia Declaration of Rights and John Locke’s Second Treatise of Government. A copy of Isaacson’s book will be given to the first 20 participants. Revolutionary Roundtable will meet on July 18th, August 8th, September 19th, October 17th, November 14th and December 12th, all at 10:30 am.
