Outdoors

The Milton Public Schools, the Milton Public Library, and the Milton Early Childhood Alliance invite you to Summertime Stories: outdoor storytimes at Milton community locations! Miss Sara, a Milton Public Library Children’s Librarian, will read stories, sing songs, and engage children at four sessions around town this summer. If the weather is nice, bring a blanket because we’ll be outside. Parents/caregivers must remain with and look after their child – these are not drop-off events. Registration is not required, however, you will need to sign in upon arrival. Held on four Thursdays at 10:00 AM: July 9th and August 6th at Cunningham Park, and July 23rd and August 20th at Tucker School. For families with their children ages birth to six years old.

Calling all adventurers! Join us for a monthly Dungeons & Dragons campaign! This program is free to attend, and no past familiarity with Dungeons & Dragons is required. Registration is required. Children's Room

Check out our Take-and-Make craft program for ages 3-5! Pick up an easy DIY craft, take it home, and make at your leisure. Please share your creations on our FB page or tag us on Instagram! Pick up a craft supply bag on Friday, July 10 between 9am and 5pm, and make it together whenever you like! This month, we will make: Silly Summer Penguin Magnets. This is a first-come, first-serve activity. No registration is required. These are librarian-made takeaway supplies that are provided for a home-based activity shared between caregiver and child. This is not a Zoom program. Sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library.

Join the MPL's choose-your-own-adventure book club for adults: Booked for Lunch! Once a month, please join MPL Staff for a silent book club: a half hour of socializing and eating lunch together, and a half hour of silent reading time. We'll talk about what books we're reading and share our top picks (and maybe the duds too). Participants should bring a bag lunch and a book to read. This program is for adults only. Registration is required and will open three weeks in advance of the program.

Stories for ages 3-8. Miss Sara will offer this storytime live on Zoom. PJ's welcome; silly stuff is guaranteed! Registration is required; a Zoom link will be sent out to all registered participants at 6pm on the day of the program.

Register online for SPUB Club! Our Super Popular, Unbelievable Book Club is a read-aloud book club on Zoom for kids in grades 2-6. Miss Sara will read a few chapters of a book each week; your job is to listen, do a hands-on activity of your choice at home (we recommend Play-Doh or drawing), and have fun! Registration is required and limited to 25 computers. Registrants will receive Zoom connection info on the day of the program.

This reception is a wonderful opportunity to view the exhibit, meet the artist, and enjoy an evening surrounded by creativity. Are you under 40 and eager to connect with fellow book enthusiasts? Boozy Bookworms might be the perfect fit for you! Facilitated by library staff members Tory Fiske and Micaela Soucy, this book club will meet at Steel & Rye for lively discussions over delicious food and drinks. Please note, attendees are responsible for purchasing their own food and refreshments and we recommend arriving 15 minutes early if you plan to order. Join us for a fun-filled pop-up storytime at the Milton Farmer's Market! One of the MPL Children's Librarians will be on hand to read stories and sing songs with families. This is a drop-in program; no registration is required.

Join us for a relaxed, hands-on workshop designed to demystify generative AI (artificial intelligence) in a low-pressure setting. There is no experience needed for this easy, no-stakes way to explore tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. We will discuss practical everyday uses and spend time actually using these tools to see how they can work for you. Just bring your laptop or tablet to get started. If you don’t have one handy, Chromebooks will be available to borrow during the session. Marc Johnson is a Milton neighbor and dedicated AI enthusiast. He has found creative ways to integrate AI into work, travel planning, cooking, and everyday tasks. He is always eager to learn more and loves sharing his experience with others. (Registration is NOT required for this session).
