Fredrick Backman’s My Friends was the most checked-out book at the Yarmouth Town Libraries in 2025. Backman, a writer known for “capturing the messy essence of what it means to be human,” tells a story about friendship.
The Yarmouth Town Libraries monthly book club meets on the second Thursday of each month at the South Yarmouth Library. Drop-ins are welcome, and no registration is required.

Join us at the Simpkins Field in South Yarmouth for a day of fun - Renaissance style!
Step back in time with Yarmouth Town Libraries’ Tiny Renaissance Faire on Saturday, July 11. A family-friendly day filled with live performances and music, storytelling with a timeless twist, artisan demonstrations, hands-on crafts, historical reenactments, interactive games, LARP and tabletop gaming. Attend in costume if you wish, or just as you are. Explore culture, history, science, gardening, and farm-to-table ideas while celebrating creativity, community, and the joy of growing both food and imagination. Plant a seed of curiosity and watch it grow!

Expect the full jug band experience: washboard, kazoos, slide whistles, and yes, a jug or two — all backed by a lively string section of guitar, mandolin, ukulele, fiddle, banjo, and the occasional concertina surprise.
