Join naturalists from Whitewater State Park on June 11 & July 10 at 10 AM at Windom Park to interactively learn about the plants & animals in our beautiful driftless area. We’ll start with a brief nature education piece, followed by activities and crafts related to the topic. This is great for ages 6 and up. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Come learn about fossils from our area & how you can spot them. We’ll also do an activity & craft together!
Slithering into Your Heart. July 9th 10am
During this program we will discover some of the common snakes found in southeastern Minnesota. We’ll learn about our local rattlesnakes and the copycats trying to trick us into thinking they are rattlesnakes too. We’ll even have a chance to meet the real thing!

During this relaxed, drop‑in event, participants will decorate small candle jars using materials such as washi tape, acrylic paint, glitter, and more. Each attendee will have the opportunity to design their own unique glowing creation to take home and enjoy.
All supplies—including candle jars—are provided free of charge. This program is open to all ages, requires no registration, and encourages creativity, experimentation, and a little summertime sparkle.
