Join the Carnegie Carnegie Teen Garden Club! Every session will include plant care and an activity. We will check out what is ready for harvest, explore what is in bloom, and wrap up with an activity! Activities will include crafts, science experiments, taste tests, bouquet making and more! Activities will be about an hour long- using what we grow! Just for teens ages 11-17. Come hang out- meet us outside at the teen patio! No experience needed, no registration required!

Paperback Platoon is a book club for women filled with veterans, service members, and their families. Our goal is to build connection with each other through a shared interest and love for reading. Join the Carnegie Modular Railroaders, an all-ages group for anyone interested in model railroading! The mission of the Carnegie Modular Railroaders is to inspire and educate model railroaders of all ages through hands on learning, collaborative layout building, and shared exploration of the hobby. The Carnegie Modular Railroaders meet one or two Saturdays a month at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall. Join certified yoga instructor Leah Shuck for a gentle, slower flow yoga practice every second and fourth Monday evening! Mindful yoga is a rewarding way to exercise while reducing stress and centering your mind. Please bring a yoga mat, a bottle of water, and something to use as a strap (an old scarf, belt, or necktie work just fine!). You are also welcome to bring a block, blanket, bolster, etc if you wish. If you don't have a yoga mat, we have a few available to borrow. This is a pay-what-you-can class where participants can pay $0-$15, with a suggested donation of $10 per class. All participants must sign a waiver at each session. Registration is appreciated, but walk-ins are welcome. Please register below.

Join Children's Librarian Miss Mikayla in the Lincoln Gallery for a half-hour Baby and Toddler Storytime at 10:30 am! Our littlest learners can expect to hear stories, sing, dance, move, and play during our Storytimes. This program is geared towards children ages birth to 3 years of age. Our Summer Storytime Session will be 8-weeks long, running from Tuesday, June 16th through Tuesday, August 4th. It will be followed by a 2-week break as we prepare for the next session. Kids in grades K-5 and their families are now invited to drop in WEEKLY on Tuesdays to take part in Lego Club, anytime between 3:30 - 5:30 pm. Children younger than 5 may participate as well, with close adult supervision. Build your own creations or try out one of our Lego challenges, and display your creations for all to see! Lego Club will take place in the Children's Library.

Join us for a weekly playdate at the library! Play is essential for children’s growing literacy, motor, and social-emotional development. Kids can play, socialize, and bond with their caregivers, and caregivers will have an opportunity to connect with one another, as well! We will set up a special collection of fun and developmentally appropriate toys that are not available in the main children’s library. This program is geared towards ages 0-5 and their grown-ups.

In our quarterly series "From the Foxhole: Talks with Carnegie's Veterans," veteran and military researcher Richard Murphy shares live, unscripted conversations with the veterans of our area about their experiences while serving. Do you want to see a change in your community? If so, become a member of the Carnegie Carnegie's Teen Library Council (TLC)! Teens ages 12-18 who join can help shape and promote the library’s services to teens! Opportunities include planning events and programs, writing for the Carnegie Carnegie newsletter, recommending teen books for the collection, volunteering at library and community events, promoting teen literacy, and much more. Come have your voice be heard and help us shape the library’s services and programming for teens for years to come!
