Abracadabra! Join us for a live magic show featuring loads of prehistoric fun! Professor Steve can hardly wait to go exploring and he wants you to come along as he goes looking for dinosaurs, treasures, and more—unearthing a lot of things, including some wonderful stories! Bring your imagination as we dig into some exciting adventures! "Unearth a Story” Magic Show mixes a little magic and a lot of imagination to create a good time for everyone. This year, a new friend joins Professor Steve to help motivate and inspire kids to read more, use their imaginations, and learn all about dinosaurs. (Who doesn't love dinosaurs!) So grab your imaginary binoculars, hat, sunscreen, and a good book, and let's see what we can find!

Stormy Oaks Nature Conservancy in nearby Middlesex Township is collaborating with the Mars Library to host an interactive, outdoor literacy activity. Pages from the children’s picture book, The Great Cookie Kerfuffle by Jessica Shaw, have been laminated and displayed on posts along the nature trail at Stormy Oaks. Merging physical activity with reading, families are encouraged to walk, read (aloud), and engage with stories in nature. StoryWalk Week is July 18-24, 2026. STEMsters, the Mars High School Chapter of a national nonprofit, strives to develop a love for STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) among young students through an interactive, activity-based learning experience. A typical lesson from STEMsters starts with a presentation that goes over an experiment and the instructions. With a worksheet to track and plan out the experiment and review STEM concepts involved, students then build the project with instructors hands-on guidance. Experiments are tested and the science concepts behind the projects are explained. Open to children in grades 3 to 8. Visit the library to learn about how worms turn waste into fertile soil. Our worm composter will be the home of a number of "red wigglers" this July and August, who will turn waste food products into compost, which can then be used to grow healthy plants. Drop in for all three sessions to see their progress and help us feed them. Special thanks to "Let's Go Compost!" for providing the materials for this program.

Board Game Club meets once per month to learn a new game. Today's Game is "Deception: Murder in Hong Kong", where most players are investigators, attempting to deduce who among them is the killer by correctly identifying how the crime was done and what evidence was left behind. Another player, the Forensic Scientist, provides clues about the scene of the crime to help them, all while the murderer tries to blend in for as long as possible. Tense and fun social deduction. Ages 11+
