Better yet, check out a LEGO book and construct something from there. When you're finished, snap a picture before taking your creation apart and leaving the materials behind for the next Master Builders to come through.

Join us for Teen Art this summer with Open High Art Teacher Brigette Newberry. During Teen Art, teens and tweens will be able to foster self-expression, develop arts and craft skills, and build community with their peers all within a supportive and creative environment. Join us this Tuesday to learn how to wrap, tie, and cut yarn while developing structural design skills in order to create tactile 3D art objects.

Arghh! Join us as we make our very own pirate ships out of sponges and duct tape. Then, we'll move the adventure outside to our auxiliary parking lot and explore how our new boats float on a vast open sea--otherwise known as a pool of water. (In case of rain, we will float our boats in smaller tubs inside.) This event is best for toddlers and preschoolers, ages 2-5.

Think you're swell at solving puzzles? Need something fun and free to do with your friends and family? Put your skills to the test at the Belmont Library's puzzle-solving competition! Individuals or teams of up to 4 can compete to see who can put together a 500-piece puzzle the fastest. The stakes? Higher than the sun. The prize? Bragging rights. Register today and get ready to rumble (quietly). There will be a total of 4 teams; if you don't have a team, a team will be assigned to you based on seating availability. This event ends when the first team completes the puzzle, or the library closes for the night; whichever comes first! The selected puzzles will have small pieces and can take up to 3 hours to complete (unless you prove us wrong!), so this program is recommended for adults and/or those with a lot of patience. Can't make it right at 5? Latecomers welcome if you're looking to really challenge yourself, but the program still ends no later than 8PM. Got puzzles and board games you don't want anymore? If they’ve got all their pieces, you can donate them to Belmont's puzzle library all year round!
