Connect with nature and yourself! Learn how to make a nature journal with artist Rhonda Roebuck. This beginner-friendly workshop introduces methods that will help you ask questions, observe, and record the nature around you. Registration required. All materials provided. Ages 16+. This program will be held on May 7, June 4, and July 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Attendance at all sessions is not required. About Rhonda Roebuck Rhonda Roebuck is a photographer and artist living in Greenwood, Virginia. She is a retired photography teacher from Western Albemarle High School. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts from the University of Alabama and has kept sketchbooks and journals for over 30 years. She has recently been teaching nature journaling classes at libraries in the area. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Waynesboro Public Library. Spend a late afternoon full of foraging fun with Gabrielle Cerberville, aka Chaotic Forager! This beginner-friendly, hands-on walk will begin at the library and continue along the beautiful Waynesboro Greenway. Expect an informative, entertaining, and exciting blend of plant and fungi identification education, ethical harvesting practices, ethnobotanical history, and tips for how to use nature’s bounty in your kitchen. We’ll walk at a gentle pace with frequent stops. The path will be accessible for strollers and wheelchairs the entire way, and will be under a mile. Walks typically take around 1.5 - 2 hours, with extra time at the end to talk about what we’ve found, ask lingering questions, and enjoy a foraged snack and drink together.
