Do you have a budding theater lover? Your child can step into the spotlight with our seven-part Storybook Theater program. Kids will dive into the world of acting, unleash their creativity with costume-making, and design groovy sets, all inspired by the beloved book Lyle, Lyle Crocodile. Join us during our final class (July 30) for a performance so our hardworking kids can show off their skills! This program is a session of classes that will feature different aspects of being part of the theater and performing. Regular attendance will be expected of all registrants.

Hear the first few chapters of an unforgettable book then take home your own copy of the book to keep. This program will be held on the Civic Center patio roof, accessible from the second floor. During inclement weather it will be held in the Civic Center board room also on the second floor. June 15 – Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery July 13 – When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller August 10 – Growing Home by Beth Ferry No registration; just drop in. Books will be limited to one book per family and handed out on a first come, first served basis until gone.

The Friends of the Pauline Haass Library meet on the 1st Monday of every other month. The Friends group is a voluntary, non-profit organization which has actively supported and helped the library serve the community since 1980. The Friends are currently concentrating on offering free educational & entertainment programs for adults, raising funds through their popular ongoing book sales, and providing the funding for children’s programming. In the 1890s it became a trend to claim a Revolutionary War Patriot and join a society that represented your Americanism, such as the Daughters of the American Revolution. Find out about the history of these organizations and what they meant then and now. Presented by Anni Parsons, MLIS, is the owner of Archive Your Past, and a librarian on the run. Registration opens Monday, June 22. Anni was introduced to genealogy in her tween years and has enjoyed learning about genealogy and history since that time. The early years of Colonial America are most intriguing as Anni’s earliest ancestors were in America in the 1630s. A member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), member of the Genealogical Speakers Guild (GSG), Society of American Archivists (SAA), Wisconsin State Genealogical Society (WSGS), and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR).
