Road Trip to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis

*REGISTRATION BEGINS JUNE 1* Library field trip to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. In partnership with HCCS so that we are able to take a school-owned and operated transport bus at no cost to attendees! Kids need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian/ or parent/guardian-authorized adult. Tickets are free to attendees thanks to library gift funding and donations. Attendees may take a packed lunch if they wish. The bus will leave from and return to the library. Kids must be 2 and up to ride the bus. No more than 2 adults per family may attend to reserve as many seats as possible for children. Registration will begin June 1st via paper forms in the Children's Department. Seats will be on a first come, first served as signed forms are handed in.

Genealogy Toolbox: Fold3 (Evening)

Join us on the second Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. (morning session) or the second Thursday at 5 p.m. (evening session) for Genealogy Toolbox. Each month will have a different theme. This series of short (under 30 minutes) lessons is designed to inform and teach everyone from people who have never done genealogy to those who have been doing it for decades. The focus is on tools, techniques, databases, and other resources accessible from the Keefer Center. The overall theme for 2026 is the major subscription databases used by Keefer Center staff plus the free FamilySearch website. Air Dry State Magnet for Teens

Using air-dry clay and Mod Podge, teens can create magnets to represent a state of their choice. Images of vintage state magnets will be provided to be pasted onto the clay. They will then cut the clay around the image in the shape of their chosen state/image. Join us anytime from 3–6 p.m. on July 16 for this event!

Paws to Read

Therapy dogs from Three Rivers Visiting Dogs stop by the Huntington Main Library on the first and third Saturdays of every month at 10 a.m. for children to read to them! Children who are too young to read or just uncomfortable doing so can just meet and greet the dogs. This not only gives children a chance to practice their reading but also allows those who are unable to own a pet or have a fear of dogs spend some safe and limited time with them.

End of Summer Skating Party!

West Park Skate Center, 2986 W Park Dr, Huntington, IN 46750, USA

Free for all ages! Our end-of-summer Skating Party will once again be held at West Park Skate Center! Come join us to celebrate the end of summer and all the hard work everyone has done during the Summer Library Program. Entry and skates are free! Concessions will be available to purchase at cost. Kids under 10 must be accompanied by an adult or teen family member (age 13+) as per the library policy for in the library itself, and kids should not be dropped off alone.
