W.F.K. Travers' Lincoln Portrait (Virtual)

At nine feet tall, this impressive portrait of the sixteenth president has been praised by those who knew him as more lifelike than any other. Exhibited at the US Capitol, the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, and the Union League Club in New York, among other important places, this portrait eventually found a home in the Hartley Dodge Memorial in Madison, NJ. Mallory will share her first-hand account of researching this painting and the stories she uncovered as she leads the audience through this painting’s fascinating provenance. This portrait is currently on loan to the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. Mallory Mortillaro is an art historian and educator. She has a decade of teaching experience and has worked on various art research projects for museums and organizations in the New York metropolitan area. Her discoveries in the art world have garnered her international attention. She studied at Drew University. Mallory resides in New Jersey with her husband and daughter. Celebrate Free Comic Book Day with a themed puzzle! Grab some friends and put your puzzler to the test! This is a relaxed competition in which teams of 2-4 people will be given the same 500 piece puzzle and 2 hours to complete it. The team that finishes first will win a prize. Maximum of 8 teams. NOTE: Only one person needs to register per team If puzzles are not completed in the time limit, the remaining puzzle pieces will be counted and the team with the fewest remaining pieces will be the winner.

Join is us for yoga at the library. This class is open to all, from beginners to advanced practitioners. We will explore gentle and traditional yoga postures through the movement of breath, while also practicing different types of breathwork and meditation. The theme overall for each class is to increase mobility and flexibility within the body and to help create a peace of mind for mental well-being. Please wear yoga appropriate attire and bring a yoga mat or towel and a bottle of water. Participate at your own risk.
