Event Description: Go on an imaginary safari around the world with an educator from Wildlife Encounters Ecology & Wellness Center, based in Rochester, NH! Meet animals whose ancestors lived in a variety of habitats and places on Earth, while discovering their amazing adaptations, learning their ecological contributions and their personal stories. You will meet six globally and biologically diverse animals that are native to at least three different continents! You could meet the following animals: Fox, Alligator, Macaw, Python, Chinchilla, Opossum. Who Can Attend: The event is best suited for children ages 5 and up and their families. Event Description: What would you do if you were stuck in a Prehistoric Era?! Virtually, that is. You're playing the roles of students who just had a great virtual field trip back to the Jurassic Era! You explored the terrain and were able to observe and interact with some of the gentle, herbivorous dinosaurs. You caught a glimpse of T-Rex and, even though it was a virtual visit, you kept your distance. After you explored the Jurassic Era, you're ready to end the virtual visit and return to school, but something is jammed and you are stuck. While you're not in danger, you cannot get out of this Jurassic era loop. Work as a group to solve to solve the puzzles, so you can successfully Break Out of the Jurassic Period. Once you've completed the Breakout Room, each child attending will get a small goodie bag. Who Can Attend: This event is for children ages 6-10. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Event Description: Who will be crowned the champion of the Book Cup? Join the Hollis Social Library and Hollis Recreation Department for a fun 4v4 soccer event where books and soccer collide! In the weeks leading up to the game, library visitors will vote in our Book Cup Bracket, narrowing a field of favorite children's books down to two finalists through a World Cup-style tournament. On game day, those two books will become soccer teams as players take the field to determine the ultimate champion! All participants will be assigned to a team and enjoy friendly pick-up style 4v4 games designed for fun, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Every player will receive a participation prize. Not a soccer player? You can still be part of the action! Visit the Children's Room throughout the Book Cup Bracket and cast your vote each week to help your favorite books advance to the championship match. Join the Hollis Sew-cial Library and the Knitting Guild of New Hampshire for this open group meeting.
