Come hear from our very own Demarest NVD H.S. graduates who will be attending Ivy League schools in Fall 2026! Presenters include Alexa B (attending The University of Pennsylvania) and Justin S. (attending Harvard). The Demarest Library has been lucky to have both of these H.S. graduates as library volunteers the past few years. They will share their experiences applying to colleges. H.S. Juniors and students and parents of H.S. students are invited to listen to their presentation followed by Q&A. **Please note this is solely their own experience and their advice can not guarantee acceptance into an Ivy league school or any college.

This program is for children ages 0 - 4 and their caregivers. *Registration required Created by Zumba® and BabyFirst for kids ages 0-5, the Zumbini® program combines music, dance, and educational tools for 45 minutes of can’t-stop, won’t-stop bonding, learning, and fun! Sarah Viviani is a Bergen County-based instructor with a professional background in early childhood education and special education. She teaches Zumbini classes in various locations in and around Bergen County. **Park along the street on Insley and Steflox St. We can not accomodate strollers upstairs in the Community Room. Summer Little Wigglers Storytime @ the Gazebo

Join Ms. Jen at the Demarest Gazebo for stories, songs, and fun all summer. This program is for infants to toddlers and their caregivers. No registration required! When the weather is nice, we'll meet at the Demarest Gazebo. Otherwise, we will meet at the Library. Check our social media pages or call the library the morning of for updates! When are the classes? Storytime is on Mondays from 10:30 - 11 AM. What if there is inclement weather? We will meet at the Library instead. There is limited space so we may not be able to accomodate everyone that may have come to the Gazebo. Call 201-768-8714 x 3 that morning to check where storytime will be held. Where are the classes held? Summer Storytime meets once a week at the Demarest Gazebo lawn, under the shade of the trees. PLEASE bring a picnic blanket for you and your little one to be most comfortable. It is a good idea to bring water and sunscreen although we are mostly in the shade. After storytime, please feel free to stay and play on the lawn or meet back at the library and socialize with other parents and caregivers! Who is this class for? This class is for 0 to 4-year-olds and their caregivers. Caregivers must remain with children at all times.

Voice to Present (Ages 11 - 14)

Join us at the library for a 3 week public speaking camp (Mondays - July 13, 20 and 27) for midleschoolers ages 11 - 14 with high schooler Megan R.! This workshop will prepare students to write and present a speech. “Voice to Presence" empowers students to transform how they express themselves—building the confidence, clarity, and resilience needed to speak with purpose. Through structured, interactive activities and thoughtfully designed exercises that foster genuine understanding, culminating in each student delivering their own final presentation at the conclusion of the three-day program. Megan will help individuals move beyond simply having a voice to developing a powerful presence that inspires, connects, and leads in both academic and everyday settings.

Intro to Public Forum Debate (Ages 11-14)

Come learn the basics of Debate from Demarest teen Brandon and Cresskill teen David! This 4-session series will go over the standards of public forum debate (what public forum debate is, what are some topics that are argued, etc.), then they will move onto the structure of debate (constructive speech, rebuttal, crossfires, summary, and final focus), and potentially holding practice debates for the last class if time allows. About the Presenters Brandon and David, high school Juniors, started public forum debate during their Freshman year of high school. David has had experience with policy debate since middle school. They have won various awards in both national and local tournaments, including winning the champion title for the Cal Berkeley Fall Championships as well as the Georgetown Spring Debate Tournament.

This lively group of avid readers enjoys in-depth discussions of popular and classic literary works. New members are always welcome, including non-residents. SOAR Program Series - World of Littles (Ages 6 - 9)

SOAR presents World of Littles for ages 6 - 9. Go on a nature walk and explore the miniature wildlife that supports the environment in a big way! Small but mighty, insects, chipmunks, snails, and other tiny animals make our world so cool! After exploring, you’ll decorate your very own puzzle and mini bugs to take home! **These programs are funded by the Demarest Nature Center, Demarest Enviornmental Commisson, Friends of the Demarest Library and Demarest Library. All programs will meet in the Children's Program Room at the Demarest Library. This program will include a walk to the Demarest Duck Pond, and then back to the library. This program has a hard age range limit. Children must be in/entering Grades 1 - 3 (Ages 6 - 9) Please register each child (no adult registration neccessary). Adults MUST stay with children during this program. Once registered, please fill out the required waiver here. There will be paper copies available on the day of the program, but filling out ahead of time will be faster.

SOAR Program Series - Bonkers for Bugs (Ages 6 - 9)

SOAR presents Bonkers for Bugs for ages 6 - 9. The more legs, the merrier! Bugs come in all shapes and sizes. How many? Grab a magnifying glass, butterfly net, bug wheel, and let's discover together! Create cool Geoboard designs of various bugs and decorate a set of fun mini-bugs to transport and store in a cool bug box. **These programs are funded by the Demarest Nature Center, Demarest Enviornmental Commisson, Friends of the Demarest Library and Demarest Library.
