Read to a Bunny

Source

John W. Salzig Meeting Room, Leonia Public Library

Ashie's Book Nook is a volunteer initiative aimed at increasing childhood literacy by having children read to bunnies! By partnering with a local rabbit rescue, children will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one in a safe environment with a rabbit friend and read them a book of their choosing. Research has shown that this type of engagement decreases literacy anxiety, while increasing confidence and making reading fun. We hope families will hop on in! We will accept sibling/friend groups of up to two participants for each time slot. 5 minutes: introduction, distribute flyers about AARR and bunny care, meet the bunnies, overview of expectations 15 minutes: children will read a book of their choice 5 minutes: bunny pets and offer treats
