TEENS AGES 12-18 (must be going into GRADE 7-GRADE 12 in the fall) can register at the Circulation Desk (starting June 1st) for this year's TEEN SUMMER CHALLENGE, as well as pick up a Welcome Bag with candy, coloring pages, and other fun stuff to kick off the summer! *While supplies last.*
Earn program points by reading, attending library programs, completing activities, or volunteering for community service hours to win prizes that you can claim during the week of August 17th. More points = more prizes PLUS more chances to win bigger prizes in our end-of-summer drawing.

It's finally here, the 2026 Adult Summer Reading Challenge!
This year’s theme is: Unearth a Story 🦖
Here's everything you need to know...
Using our activity log, keep track of every book you read and every library program you attend this summer. At the end of the summer, there will be a raffle drawing for prizes. Each entry on your activity log counts as one entry in the raffle, so the more you participate, the better your chances are of winning a prize! This year, we also have an additional themed challenge: read a book that corresponds to each of the 6 categories and you'll get an additional 10 points! Here's how to participate:
In person: Stop by the summer reading table near the circulation desk, fill out a registration card, and pick up your activity log (and optionally the themed challenge). Make sure to return your completed activity log to the box by Friday, August 21st.
Online: Go to https://monroetpl.readsquared.com or download the Readsquared app and create your account by searching for Free Public Library of Monroe Township. You will be able to log your reading and events here, as well as complete the themed challenge.
Four (4) winners will be chosen at the end of the raffle. Good luck and thanks for participating!

All summer long, we will be accepting donations for the following back-to-school items:
pencils/pens
binders
notebooks
folders
erasers
crayons
calculators
pencil cases/ sharpeners
rulers
scissors
highlighters
Simply bring in the items you'd like to donate any time between June 15th-August 14th and place them in the box located by the reference desk.
Any contributions, large or small, are greatly appreciated! At the end of the summer, materials will be freely available for students to come and take what they need.
The last few summers, this drive has been a great success to get our Williamstown kids back to school with all of their essentials thanks to a fantastic community effort! This summer, we hope to do the same!!
Note for Teens: Students looking for community service hours this summer can receive 15 minutes of service credit for every item that they donate.

Dan Santant has issued a Summer Reading Challege to readers ages 8-12. "Add your words to Dan's art to complete the story for your chance to win FREE BOOKS." The library is offering a free series of internet safety classes for adults throughout the month of July designed to increase awareness and comfortability when using the internet and your technology devices. Each workshop must be registered for individually.
This 4-part series will cover:
Week 1: Safe Internet Navigation
Week 2: Avoiding and Identifying Viruses
Week 3: Mobile Device Safety
Week 4: AI Safety and Awareness
**This week will discuss:
-What the internet is
-Rules/habits while navigating the internet
-Indicators on safe websites
-Indicators on unsafe websites
-Common scams
-Identifying safe vs. unsafe websites
