Attendees must have completed the Safety and Cricut Training in order to attend this workshop. For more information about our trainings, please see our Online Training Hub. Create your own custom magnetic bookmarks using your Cricut machine! In this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn how to design, cut, and assemble durable magnetic bookmarks that are perfect for books, planners, journals, and gifts. We'll cover selecting materials, setting up your Cricut, cutting cardstock, and applying magnets to create your bookmarks. By the end of class, you'll leave with several personalized magnetic bookmarks and the skills to create more at home. Materials will be provided. Safety Training and Cricut Training must be completed prior to registration.

**Makerspace Safety Training required before registration** - Safety Training can be completed here. Get started with machine sewing and embroidery in this beginner-friendly training session! This class will cover the basics of how to use a sewing and embroidery machine, including setup, threading, and essential functions. You’ll also enjoy a live demonstration showcasing simple stitching and embroidery techniques to help you see the machine in action. This class is required in order to book personal sewing appointments or attend Beginner's sewing classes in the Makerspace. You will only need to take this class once. Class requires an active MTPL Library Card. For ages 9 (ages 9-15 must be accompanied by an adult).

Learn the basics of laser engraving while creating custom rectangular leather patches! In this hands-on class, you'll design and engrave leather patches using a laser engraver. You'll learn how to prepare a design for laser engraving, choose the best settings for leather, and achieve clean, professional-looking results. By the end of class, you'll have a personalized leather patch to take home. Safety Training and Laser Cutting Training are required prior to registration.

Join us for a work shop on junk journaling! We will create two spreads to get your junk journal started. Registration is required as seats and supplies are limited. What is junk journaling? Junk journaling is a carefree, highly personalized form of scrapbooking that transforms recycled or found "junk" into unique keepsake books. There are no strict rules, allowing creators to collage, write, and layer everyday materials—like ticket stubs, old receipts, or product packaging—to express creativity and preserve memories of your every day life.
