Savor A Cup of Quiet in this special summer evening story time celebrating the 2026 Kids Reading Across RI (KRARI) selection by best-selling author Nikki Grimes. This sweet picture book celebrates the precious bond between grandparents and their grandchildren as they appreciate the gentler sounds of nature, slowing down and spending a memorable day together in their cup of quiet. Each family will receive a brand-new copy of A Cup of Quiet to keep for their own library collection, compliments of Rhode Island Center for the Book. Registration required, space is limited. Our Adult Board Game Night is moving offsite this summer! Adults 18 are invited to join us for a fun Board Game Night on the second and fourth Mondays from 6-8:30 pm at St. Andrew's School in Barrington. Summer Dates: Monday, June 8 Monday, June 22 Monday, July 13 Monday, July 27 Monday, August 10 Monday, August 24 Register once and be registered for all the dates! Snacks and beverages will be provided! We will have board games on hand but you are welcome to bring your own as well. Registration is REQUIRED. Free and open to adults. St. Andrew's Address: 63 Federal Road Use entrance across from the Barrington Police Station. The building will be the first on your right (circled in red below). Parking is available directly in front of the building in the marked spaces or on the grass. If no available parking, please park in one of the lots circled in blue and walk to the building. Enter the door marked "Ross Board Room" and the room will be on the right.

Adults ages 18-25 are invited to join the East Bay Regional Coalition on Tuesday, July 14 at 4 pm for a special wellness focused program called InShape! InShape Prevention Plus Wellness is the nation’s only easy to use, single-session substance use prevention program designed to increase fitness, health and performance-enhancing behaviors like physical activity, exercise, healthy eating, getting adequate sleep, and practicing stress control while avoiding harmful substance use for young adults. Upon completion of the training, all participants will receive a $25 gift card. Free and open to adults ages 18-25. Please register below.

Summer Cookbook Club - Book Discussion

Adults are invited to join us for the Summer Session of cookbook club! This group will meet twice for the Summer Session on Tuesday, July 14 at 6 pm for our cookbook discussion and again on Tuesday, July 28 at 6 pm for our potluck dinner. Both meetings will take place in the Collis Family Gallery on the second floor of the library. In our first meeting, we will discuss the author, book introduction, layout, and recipe map, and then set the menu for the next meeting and decide who will bring what. Then for our second meeting, everyone will make a dish at home, and bring it to our potluck dinner. You must attend BOTH sessions! When you register below you are signing up for both days - July 14 and July 28. The book for Summer 2026 is Everyday Dorie by Dorie Greenspan. Once you register, you can pick up a copy of the book at the Circulation Desk. Please have your book ready for the Tuesday, July 14 meeting. You will be expected to have read the introduction as well as at least skimmed through the rest of the book. It would be helpful if you also had a general idea of which dish(es) you would like to make. Free and open to adults. Group Guidelines: If you register you are committing to attending both dates in the Summer session (July 14 and July 28). You must attend the cookbook discussion on July 14 in order to attend the potluck on July 28. You must be willing to cook at least one dish and bring enough for 12-16 people to have a taste of each dish. Please clearly mark any allergens (eggs, gluten, milk, etc) on your dish card (handed out on July 14). Bring completed cookbook review form with you to the potluck on July 28.

All levels are welcome for this vinyasa yoga practice with Charlotte. Experience movement sequences designed to open up, tone and bring balance to your body. Patrons will be guided in through movement, breathwork and meditation techniques to best rest, restore, and reset. Practice level is for people who can move from the floor to standing without assistance. Bring a yoga mat, water and any props you may need from your home practice. Always consult your doctor prior to any new physical activity. Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes early to set up, settle in, and start on time. Free and open to adults. Registration is required for each class. About Charlotte Love Lombardi: A life-long explorer of creative arts and holistic wellness, Charlotte started practicing yoga in 2000 while raising a young family. During those early years of motherhood, Charlotte also developed a love for gardening, knitting, and sewing. She draws upon creative activities to deepen her relationship to yoga and meditation which informs and inspires her coaching and yoga instruction. As Charlotte’s family grew, so did the balancing importance of yoga. Experiencing Kripalu, Hatha, Baptiste and Prana Vinyasa styles ultimately led Charlotte to complete both a 200 and 500-hour Prana Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training, created by Shiva Rea a full spectrum approach to Living Yoga, taught by Senior Teacher, Coral Brown. Rediscover the joy and wonder of childhood by joining us for Adult Summer Camp! Embrace your inner child as you participate in fun activities and workshops designed to bring out your playful side. Each participant will receive a commemorative lanyard and will earn a badge for every activity completed. Don't miss this opportunity to relive the carefree days of summer and make new memories with like-minded individuals in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Adult Summer Camp is split into two sessions. Register for session one, session two, or both! Sign up now and let the adventure begin! Free and open to adults. Register below for Session 1 (July 20 - 30). By registering, you are committing to all 4 days of camp. You cannot register for individual activities only. Dates and activities are below: Monday, July 20 at 2 pm: Mandala Rocks - Use brightly colored acrylic paint and dotting tools to create a one of a kind mandala rock. Earn the Craft badge. Location: Residential Properties Meeting Room Thursday, July 23 at 2 pm: Flash Fiction – Learn the art of flash fiction and try your hand at writing your own super short stories. Earn the writing badge. Location: Residential Properties Meeting Room Monday, July 27 at 2 pm: Bulb Planting Workshop – A hands-on, beginner-friendly bulb planting workshop where you’ll learn how to choose, plant, and care for bulbs. Earn the planting badge. Location: Collis Family Gallery Thursday, July 30 at 2 pm: Indoor Games: Giant Games, Cornhole, and Darts – Indulge in some friendly competition and learn a fun new indoor game. We will rotate between games. Earn the sports badge. Location: Collis Family Gallery Complete all four Session 1 activities and earn a Barrington Public Library Adult Summer Camp mug!
