This workshop introduces Copilot as an AI assistant built into Microsoft 365/Office, then explains the tech that allows it to understand natural language and use organizational data securely. We will walk through each major Office app and explain how Copilot works with it: Word: drafting, editing, summarizing Excel: analyzing data, generating formulas, creating charts PowerPoint: building slide decks, improving visuals Outlook: summarizing emails, drafting replies Teams: summarizing meetings, extracting action items Registration is suggested but not required.

Come dressed for messy art on the Library's beautiful outdoor patio! Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States by creating a pretend birthday cake using shaving cream, watercolors, and cute decorations! Registration required. Ages 2-10 Warning: You will probably get messy; you may want to bring a spare shirt or smock for your child. This project will be fun, but the cake is not going to be an art project that you can keep, as the shaving cream will start to deteriorate after a week or so.

It encourages critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making -- all of which are important skills that we can foster from a very young age. When creating art with toddlers, it's important to remember that the attention span at this age is very short, under 10 minutes! Keep the experience short and fun! Follow their lead and let them decide where things should go and what colors to choose. Arts and crafts are often one of the earliest ways children can make decisions for themselves. There is no right or wrong!

Our favorite artist, Connie Manna joins us for an in-person painting class! Class size is limited so please register early! The following is a list of recommended materials for this program. Acrylic paint: Phthalo blue, Titanium white, Alizarin crimson, Cadmium yellow medium and Burnt Sienna. Please note: you will not use much paint, so it is ok to buy the small tubes. Brushes: 2-3 round in small/medium (approximately sizes 6, 8, 10). The library will provide the painting canvas. Registration required.
