Ages 6-11 The St. Marys Community Public Library will be hosting a Beeswax Candle making event on Thursday, July 9th. Roll a beeswax sheet into tapered shape candles! This class is a great way to learn how candles were made when our country was formed in 1776. Be prepared to get a little sticky! REGISTRATION REQUIRED! Call the library to sign up at (419) 394-7471. Learn the classic tile game at the library, or join the group if you already know the rules! Mahjong is a tile game stamped with Chinese symbols. Four players play the game at a time. The goal of the game is to be the first to match your tiles to a specific set from a scorecard by picking and discarding. There will be sets of tiles available to play, with instructors available to help beginners.

Bring your crochet, knitting, tatting, embroidery, quilting, etc. to the library and see how much you can get done after a couple of hours with friends. Geared for adults. Blood Pressure Screening

The St. Marys Community Public Library will host blood pressure screenings every second Friday of the month from 10:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. A Joint Township District Memorial Hospital/Grand Lake Health Systems nurse will be available to take blood pressure, answer questions, and provide resources. Other dates include: February 13th, March 13th, April 10th, May 8th, June 12th, July 10th, August 14th, September 11th, October 9th, November 13th, and December 11th.

The St. Marys Community Public Library is hosting a Writing Roundtable for Adults, designed to inspire creativity, foster a love for storytelling, and provide an engaging, supportive environment for aspiring writers of all levels. The next program will be on Monday, July 13th, at 11:00 a.m. and is open to all adult community members, whether you're an experienced writer or a beginner with a passion for writing. Dedicate one hour each month to your writing goals. Spend time writing or using the time to get ideas and/or advice. The Writing Roundtable will feature workshops, writing prompts, group discussions, and mentoring with peers and library staff. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their writing skills, explore various genres, and work toward completing a writing project of their own.

The St. Marys Community Public Library will host a quilting class on July 1st, a sewing class on July 8th, and open sewing labs on July 15th, July 22nd and July 29th. Classes and labs run from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The quilting class will focus on making a new Waterwheel quilt block. The sewing class will focus on sewing a worry pet. Please register for the quilting and sewing classes or if you need a sewing machine. On July 15th, July 22nd and July 29th, bring in and work on your own projects during the open sewing and crafting labs. Everyone is welcome; ages 14 through 18 can attend with an adult. The library will provide the supplies and notions needed. This event is supported by the State Library of Ohio with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. s.
