Description: Come to the Spark Lab and use our 3D printer! There will be no guided project, but staff will be available to answer questions and help with the equipment. Tablets will also be available for 3D designing on TinkerCAD if desired. There is a fee of $0.10/g for printing.
This session is for ages 12-18. Please note that all Spark Lab users will need to read and sign the Use Agreement and Liability Waiver that will be provided at the beginning of the session. Minors will need to have a parent or guardian sign on their behalf.
Before attending, please review the equipment restrictions on our Spark Lab Equipment page to ensure your project is a good fit.

Innovate & Influence is a program dedicated to teaching business-related skills to youth. We will cover the basics of Marketing, Finance, Economics, and Entrepreneurship through lessons, projects, games, and other fun activities!
If your student is interested in business, innovation, or simply trying something new, this is a great opportunity for them!
Session 1: Marketing (Monday, July 13 4:30-6:30pm)
● In this session, we will be covering the basics of marketing, including branding, the concept of target market. Advertising strategies, and why marketing is essential for businesses. This session will also introduce different DECA marketing events and how marketing skills are applied in competition.
● Introduce Shark Tank Project where students will be put in groups to create a new innovation/product

● In this session, we will be covering the basics of entrepreneurship, including how businesses are created, characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, identifying business opportunities, and developing innovative ideas. Comparative Skull Drawing with the Mütter Museum (VIRTUAL)

In this lesson, students will learn a step-by-step approach to create a drawing from images of real human skulls in our famous Hyrtl Skull Collection. We will discuss how art and medicine can be used in complementary ways, identify differences in the skulls, as well as learn about Dr. Hyrtl, why he collected the skulls, what his collection accomplished, and how it is still being used today. Paper and pencil are needed for this program.
Registrants will receive the Zoom link and invitation via email a few days before the program.

Get an overview of all of the things that you need to know to prepare for the SAT. This fast-paced class teaches students the style of thinking necessary to master the test, reviews the most important concepts that students need to know and is so interactive that students barely notice how quickly they are learning.
Session 2 (Wednesday, July 15 11:30am-2:15pm)
Take a mock SAT test! Bring a device, a snack, and your test-taking skills! There will be a ten minute break between sections.
A single registration covers both sessions. Participants must attend both sessions.
