We will learn about absorption and capillary action as we make salt, glue, watercolor paintings of fireworks. We will explore Newton's Third Law of Motion and make colorful confetti poppers.This program blends science, creativity, and fun—come ready to explore, create, and get a little messy! Stretch, move, and bond at Mommy & Me Yoga, a fun and relaxing class designed for children ages 3–6 and their caregivers. This gentle, playful session introduces basic yoga poses, movement, and mindfulness in a supportive, family-friendly environment. It’s a great way to build coordination, encourage relaxation, and enjoy quality time together. Please bring a yoga mat or towel for each participant. Ages 3-6 with caregiver. Tickets will be distributed at 10:00am on a first come, first served basis.

Enjoy gentle stretches and rhythmic moves with a certified yoga instructor. While sitting in chairs, attendees will learn how to find stability, alignment and integrity for stretches, and safe movement for the entire body. The yoga program is accessible for all bodies, and intended for adults and older adults. This free class is made possible by the Friends of the Burke Centre Library.

Step back in time at Colonial Games Day at Burke Centre Library as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday! Families are invited to try their hand at classic games enjoyed by children over 200 years ago, including hoop rolling, ring toss, marbles, jump rope, dominoes, checkers, and sack races. Drop in to celebrate with history, play, and old-fashioned entertainment! NEW: This event will be a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. Don't forget things like water & sunblock!
