Library volunteers will be available to answer technology related questions during sessions. Stop by anytime during the session to meet with a volunteer. Volunteers will be available to assist with questions related to Microsoft Office, phone navigation, tablets, computer basics, searching the Internet, and email.
Please bring any personal devices you may need assistance with as well as relevant usernames/passwords to access your device or related apps.

Death Cafés are an opportunity to demystify the death experience. We offer an open, safe environment for discussing thoughts and feelings about all manner of death and dying. At a Death Café people drink tea and discuss death. Our aim is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives. This Death Café will be hosted by Hannah, a librarian who has been hosting Death Café's since 2018.
Please note: Death Cafés are not meant to act as support groups or grief counseling.

Enjoy gentle stretches and rhythmic moves with a certified yoga instructor. While sitting in chairs, attendees will learn how to find stability, alignment and integrity for stretches, and safe movement for the entire body. No equipment is required, but you may choose to bring a yoga strap and yoga block to enhance your experience. The yoga program is accessible for all bodies, and intended for adults and older adults.
This free class is made possible by The Friends of Kings Park Library. Classes will be taught by an instructor from Breathe Body & Mind, a boutique yoga and fitness studio in West Springfield, VA, which offers various types of yoga classes as well as personal training and Pilates, barre, strength and balance classes and more.

The History of the American Civil War with Historian Madeline Feierstein

The American Civil War (1861-1865) reflected this young nation's complicated relationship with unity, identity, and slavery. At its core, both sides fought for their unique visions of the American experiment. Test by fire, the United States emerged victorious against its own rebellion yet reluctantly reunited. This lecture will discuss the ideological causes of the Civil War, why it was a necessary conflict, and how it laid the groundwork for future discontent.
Adults, registration is encouraged.
Presented by local historian Madeline Feierstein.

Join us for this inclusive storytime experience with stories, songs, and sensory-focused activities. This storytime is designed to be a welcoming space for neurodivergent children such as those with autism, ADHD, or sensory processing disorders. As such, there will be lower attendance, songs focused on repetition, and toys geared to promote sensory regulation. Children with sensory needs are highly encouraged to attend. Ages 2 and up.
