Participants will explore the Outback and the Great Barrier Reef, unearth Aboriginal artwork and artifacts, learn about amazing creatures like kangaroos and koalas ... and much more ... all while moving and grooving to the pulsing rhythms of the didge. Take a journey back in time with Rainbow Puppets to 1607 when Pocahontas and Powhatan see strangers entering the land of their ancestors. Those strangers include Captain Christopher Newport and John Smith who set sail from England searching for riches and adventure. Are you a woman in midlife in Northern Virginia who loves to read about other women's midlife journeys, including how they deal with major life changes like parenting older children, an empty nest, marital challenges, perimenopause/menopause, aging transitions, and eldercare challenges? Do you want to connect with other women and share your journey of midlife self-discovery and personal growth? Then please join us for a new women's midlife book club and sharing circle, ideal for women around ages 35-60.
We will alternate between fiction and nonfiction books that explore women’s diverse midlife journeys. Our book club will meet at the library to discuss the book and share reflections on its themes while building new friendships. The book for July is This Time Tomorrow by Emma Straub (fiction)
Facilitator
Rebecca Greene, LCSW, is a Northern Virginia mental health therapist. She is an avid reader of women's fiction and nonfiction and facilitates several women's friendship groups around Northern Virginia.
